Shaney McCoy has spent the last 3 years steadily inching her way into the collective psyche of the folk and acoustic music community. She grew up writing and playing music in the small Kansas town where she grew up, influenced by songwriting greats of the 70's like Jim Croce, Kris Kristofferson, Carole King and James Taylor. She began performing professionally in the 90’s, fronting a 5-piece country band in Arizona for several years. She then took a hiatus to take care of "real world" obligations, only to discover that writing and playing music is her "real world" after all.

Shaney now performs regularly in a variety of settings either as a solo artist or as "The Shaney McCoy Trio," which includes upright bass, fiddle and mandolin. Her shows feature her original songs that are a unique blend of folk, country and blues. She released her debut full-length CD, "Bridges I Can't Burn,” in November 2010, which has received very positive reviews. Each and every track has received terrestrial radio play both nationally and internationally. Shaney is also a 2-time finalist in the Susanne Millsaps Performing Songwriter Showcase.
